Yesterday, my doctor gave me a leaflet on dementia. It was a little confronting to say the least. Whilst I totally get my Mother’s commitment to her dementia prevention strategy (daily Sudoku in case you’re interested), it struck me as a little premature to be worrying about my own demise.

And yet, it occurred to me that the NHS was adopting one of Steven Covey’s habits of highly effective people: start with the end in mind.

It reminded me that whatever we do today, will get us to where we are going.

A sobering thought.
