In the 70s, there was a BBC children’s television programme called ‘Playschool’. During each programme there was a regular segment when the TV audience was invited to look through a window: the round window; the square window; or the arched window. The preschoolers in the audience would then get to experience a brand new world.

As adults, we’re often looking through windows into the world unconsciously. What is intriguing is when we start paying attention to the window we are looking through. A popular window is the normal window. We see an image of what is normal and diligently try to keep up. Another favourite is the perfection window, which drives most of us crazy. There is also the special window, that can be good or bad, but either way isolating.

Ironically, what we see through each of these windows differs from one person to the next.

Predictability, as a coach, I favour the window of possibility.
