We all know the result of the race between the hare and the tortoise. The hare thinks he’s got it locked up.
Something similar happened between the New Zealand and Indian cricket teams yesterday. Few believed the Kiwis could beat the favourites. Most of us assumed the Indian team had it locked up. But the Kiwis didn’t listen to everyone else. They listened to themselves. They paid attention to what they could control. They kept going.
It’s chicken and egg really. Which comes first? Self-belief or perseverence?
