How is your work life balance?

Rather like when the Russians and Americans discovering that biros don’t work in Space, we have to be careful to start with the right question. The Americans asked ‘How can we make biros work in space?’ And the Russians asked ‘How can we write in space?’ One country came up with a quick, easy and cheap solution.

A work life balance suggests there is no life at work. Or that your work is separate to your life. Perhaps the right question is: how is your life? If you are doing your life’s work or making your life count, you’ve most likely spent some of your life working on how to answer that question.
