Inspiration for today’s blog came from my fabulous spinning instructor, Terry, this morning. As he found me half dead on a gym mat after class he generously acknowledged my effort! I, however, shared my frustration that I still (after years) find my energy fading through the HITT cycles. He kindly volunteered some wisdom that came from his skiing instructor: if you are going to get good, you have to fall down a lot. It’s the trying that counts.
And it’s funny, I always thought I had a good week skiing if I had managed to stay upright. Whilst staying upright has kept me safe and in control, I’m usually found on the easiest pistes. And what I know for sure is that I miss out on more exciting and spectacular adventures.
Terry pretty much paraphrased Einstein: you never fail until you stop trying.
