Have you ever sat in a waiting room?  For me, the worst are the ones at train stations.  The air is often stale, fellow passengers look frustrated and miserable with an air of boredom and stress.

Sometimes our lives can feel like we are sat in a waiting room.  We are waiting for our work to speak for itself and get the recognition we feel we deserve.  Or we are waiting for our track record to win a new investor.  Or we are waiting for the right time to ask for a promotion.

In reality, we are really waiting for ourselves.  We are the train.  We need to set our destination and go.  One station at a time.  There will undoubtedly be leaves on the line, the wrong weather and occasional mechanical failure.   But it’s likely to be an adventure and worth the ride.  And it’s usually way better than being at a standstill.
