In his book ‘Think Like a Monk’, Jay Shetty shared his obsession with watching Steve Job’s Stanford commencement speech. I just watched it again myself and I can see why: Jobs shares timeless wisdom.

If you haven’t got 15 minutes, here’s a reminder:

  • Follow your curiosity and intuition.
  • Love what you do.  Don’t settle.
  • Ask yourself every day: if today was the last day of my life would I want to do what I am about to do?

I often look back and marvel that I sat in a job I did not love for 7 years. SEVEN YEARS. Fortunately, it wasn’t a complete waste of time. It paid the bills, I learned masses and I met some of my greatest friends. Eventually, however, my misery reached a tipping point and I finally made a change.

I haven’t transformed the world, made billions or become an icon…..yet. But I do love what I do every day and I believe that’s priceless.

As the Chinese proverb goes: The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.
