I have a confession to make. I’m currently gripped watching the Netflix documentary about Dallas Cowboys’ Cheerleaders. My second confession is that I had never heard of ‘DCC’ until a friend recommended the show.

Here’s what makes me love the cheerleaders: their extraordinary talent; their dedication; their perseverance; their discipline and commitment; and their courage to follow their life long dreams. For them, the moment they get to wear the DCC uniform their pride and excitement is palpable.

For most of us, performing the exact same dance alongside 36 others in front of a crowd 80,000 people would be our idea of hell. My heart is palpitating at the thought of it. But here’s the thing, ‘one man’s meat is another man’s poison’.

I remember working with a coaching client who was miserable at work and doubted it was possible to find a dream job. Fortunately, they came to coaching which is all about creating possibilities. Obviously, the first step to finding your dream job is to simply allow yourself to dream. Of course there will be a million rational reasons not to go for it. So in case you need to to be a little more courageous today remember: fortune favours the brave.
